Baška
A place whose scenic beauty will leave you breathless each time you visit it
Baška is located in the southern part of the island of Krk and can be reached via the island's main road which winds through fertile plains surrounded by picturesque hills and ends in Baška in the southern part of the island. Upon arrival, you'll be impressed with the scenic beauty of the landscape and the magnificent blend of sea and mountains.
Baška is famous for its 1,800-metre-long Vela Plaža Beach and promenade dotted with restaurants, bars, hotels, apartments and campsites. This impressive beach with fine pebbles, a turquoise sea and sandy seabed is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Croatia.
Apart from Vela Plaža, Baška also offers some thirty smaller pebbly beaches in hidden coves that can be reached on foot or by taxi boat.
Baška's impressive sea view, surrounding mountains and nearby rocky island of Prvić, together with its unspoilt Mediterranean nature, make it particularly attractive for campers who like to enjoy their holidays in the open air. The area is ideal for cycling, hiking, climbing and water sports.
If you'd like to pamper your palate, you can try salted fish in olive oil, local valcići pasta with lamb stew, cuttlefish risotto, or sweet Baška kroštuli deep-fried pastry all available in one of the local restaurants.
